Toolpath unexpected axis - how to fix

Hi all. I have run into a similar issue where I am calculating a line projection toolpath for use on milling with a robot on a rotary table. I have to use .stl models. In some areas, the toolpath generated will contain some "cusps" in what should be a fairly smooth round section. In these areas, the tool axis will switch direction very abruptly. This causes problems with the robot. What causes this and how can I avoid it. Thank you.

In this case, the ideal is for you to send a copy of your project so that we can suggest improvements. Without having the project, it is a little difficult to know what will solve your problem.

 

One suggestion: Enable axis smoothing:
