Hi has anyone got any experience or even know if PowerMill is capable of being used in conjuction with laser cutting.

I am aware PowerMill has the capability of programming robots with a conventional milling cutting head on it. But are currently looking at getting a robot with laser cutting fuctionality and whether or not PowerMill is capable of programing robot arms with intergrated lasercutting functionality

Great thank you Craig.

Would I be able to see a demo program for controlling a laser cutting based robot?

Appart from the robot plugin that is included with powermill. Is there are any other plugins that would be required for controlling the laser and its intensity etc?

Hi

As far as I'm aware, only the standard PowerMill plugin is required and then it would just require post processor edits to accommodate laser on/off & intensity settings.

Unfortunately I don't have a demo, it would be over to the sales teams / partners to provide this unless youtube videos give you the idea?

Where are you based?

Kind Regards

Based at Ipeco Composites, Clevedon. We already use powermill for our CMS 5 Axis. We have the potential of getting a new robot with a laser intergrated into it so trying to guage whether or not PowerMill would still be a good candiadte for still using with it or we would have to look at getting addtional software or not.

Hi

PowerMill should be more than capable.

Maybe I should pass on your details to the area sales to get in touch?

Kind Regards
