If the Collision Checking in VirtualCMM was off then all the calibration information is wrong. You need to re-do it. I'd recommend doing the following:
1) Shut PowerInspect and VirtualCMM down and re-start PowerInspect
2) Open the document you have
3) Make sure that you have "VirtualCMM" as the protocol. In PowerInspwect go to Tools->Machine Panel, Configure and set "Virtual CMM" as the Active Connection protocol
4) Go to PowerInspect Options dialog (File->Options->Application Options), selecting "CNC Replay" in the tree and make sure that the first two options that talk about Adjusting Angles are OFF.
5) Start VirtualCMM. Ensure that the "Collision Checking" is TICKED
6) Make sure that the VirtualCMM probes are configured as your document. In VirtualCMM, go to Probe Database and click on "Document's Simulator -> VCMM".
7) Make sure that the protocol itself is configured as your document and VirtualCMM. In VirtualCMMGo go to Probe Database and click on "VCMM -> Live Machine". It is important to do the steps 2,3,6,7 in the specified order.
8 ) Connect PowerInspect to VirtualCMM. In PowerInspect, go to the Tools->Connection panel and click on "Attach"
9) Re-calibrate the head. In PowerInspect go to the "Machine" tab, select the head, click on the "Calibrate" button and go through the wizard. This will delete any other head positions that you might have created before. You will need to create them again.
10) Add the A45 B180 position back. Click on the plus button on the Machine Tab and enter the angles.
11) Calibrate the position by selecting the new position and clicking "Calibrate". Ensure that in VirtualCMM you can actually see the head rotating and going to the calibration sphere.
Now the document should be probing in the expected position.
It might look complicated and long, but it is actually just 5 mins job. It will be much easier on a real CMM, unfortunately VirtualCMM is not the simplest piece of software and has it's caveats.
