Hi Michael,

Welcome to PowerInspect Forum.

PAF error 50 telling us about some troubles with the dongle drivers. Probably some Win10 update could conflict with currently installed dongle driver (it's quite old now aged from 2016).

Please find and install/update latest sentinnel dongle driver from the sentinnel web.

Hope this would helps.

Best Regards,

Alexey

Hello,

I have the same problem with two different computers.

I think this is an error with PowerINSPECT, as other 2016 products like PowerMILL and PowerSHAPE work fine. My PAF authorises PowerINSPECT, of course.

Please contact me directly at Norcam if you need further information regarding this issue.

Regards,

Vitor

Just to add that this makes it impossible to use CMMDriver, as well.

Hi,

This issue has also been reported through the direct support channels, but we may have a solution. The error is due to a specific Windows update (Version 1803) and we have found that after applying this update Powerinspect needs to be run in Windows 8 compatibility mode in order to avoid the error.

To set compatibility:

  • Right mouse click over the desktop icon.
  • Select properties.
  • Select Compatibility.
  • Check the box 'Run this program in compatibility for:'.
  • Select Windows 8 from the compatibility drop down.

I hope this helps and please let me know if this works for you by accepting the solution.
