Connection Protocol for OMV with Hurco 5 Axis Machines [VMXUDi / SRTi]

What is the connection protocol to setup a OMV on powerinspect for 42 VMXUDi / SRTI machines. I reviewed a few topics and found I++ as a portal to setup a CNC machine. But still, there's no clarity available of how I would connect and post a NC File to run a verification program on the machine.

I have had some experience in connecting surface inspect from Fusion on Hurco Machines, through defining global variables with probe calibration data, but there's no such clarity for a connection with PowerInspect.

We never provided such functionnality with PowerInspect.

By default a pmoptz post will generate a gcode that will be run on the machine.

This is generating a output file using POPEN, then DPRNT for the output.

This will generate a file on the controller.

On a Fanuc controller depending on the I/O settings, it can sent the file to a serial port, or the Ethernet connection.

I can't remember if such settings exists on the Hurco controller.

But for sure, it won't use I++. You don't drive the machine like a CMM.

The probing program define the actions, and generate a result.

Hi Serge, Thanks for the reply. I would appreciate a clarity on the following, I am using PowerInspect Ultimate,

Are there posts available from the software to create a NC program for Hurco machines, if not what am I supposed to do?

I am not concerned for sharing files to the controller I can open and run the NC File on connected server from my computer to the Machine, I would like a guideline on running the software for OMV Inspection, and availability of Posts for Hurco Machines.

Thanks

Post is not available from software to create NC program for Herco machine. For this you can contact any Autodesk partner.

Hi @M_ShaikhKN6YT

These posts are not included in the PowerInspect installation package.

It was a paid service, previously provided by Autodesk.

Nowadays, you can contact an Autodesk reseller. Some will be able to provide that service.

Cheers
