The "move gadget" that appears when you issue the move command is powerful, but a little mysterious when used to move items in sketches because it doesn't always anchor itself to a desirable location on the sketch element you are moving for optimal moves. Sometimes you might want it anchor on "that" corner, not "this" corner so that when you rotate or shift your object it slides into the right place with fewer moves, less confusion.
Tip: Click a point on desired anchor point of the item you wish to move BEFORE you issue the move command. (this also works for objects and components, not just sketch elements.) Then, when you issue the move command, the move widget appears anchored at the point you clicked rather than on some arbitrary point. Now you are master of the moves.
