Chamfer threaded rod.

If you add a thread to a rod with a chamfer the thread does't run through the chamfer and you are left with an undercut. You can get around this if you use a cosmetic thread, add the chamfer then edit the thread and change it to modeled.

 

Here's a screencast. The first thread would not work if you try to 3d print, at the end of the screencast I highlight the undercut surface.

Here's another way of chamfering a thread. If you add the thread to a chamfered rod you can drag the thread in the timeline to before the chamfer and you get a thread that runs through the chamfer. Here's a screen cast.
