Hi!
I have a subscription since version 2012 and have a network license for one Maya seat (so I can use it on both a Mac or Pc)
But since the arrival of version 2016, version 2012 is removed from the download list?
I need version 2012 since I still work with projects that are specially build for the 2012 version and cannot be opened in newer version without big and unsolvable issues.
My questions;
- If I maintain my subscription, can I keep on using older versions?
- Where can I find and download these older versions like 2012?
- Can I install ALL other versions next to each other, so I can launch 2012,2013,2014,2015,2016, future version... one at a time without issues? (even if they are installed on different Mac/pc's due the OS?)
Thx for the clarification!
Solved! Go to Solution.
A Maintenance Subscription lets you automatically use 3 past releases. That's why with the release of 2016, 2012 disappears from the list. Older releases can still be run with special permission. However I don't know if you can get an installation.
I've mentioned this in other posts. If you are going to need older releases. Tt's important to to keep the original installation. You might be able to get an installation by requesting it. I don't know. I usually work through our reseller.
You can install multiple releases on one computer but there can sometimes be conflicts regarding older or newer support file or net version.
BTW. For products past the 3 release mark your have to request activation every year.

Thx for the fast reply!
Will look for the right channel to ask that permission.
If you look through some of the other threads you might find that. Of someone from Autodesk may reply.

Hi @Anonymous, @AllenJessup,
Access to previous versions older than 3 versions back (such as is the status of 2012 when 2016 released) is fairly specific to you situation, Waldo3D, making it a bit difficult to provide accurate answers without knowing more. For this reason, it's best to contact our Customer Care team at this link. Once clicked, please wait for the entire page to display and under the heading "Contact Options for Managing License Files" you'll see options to online chat with a representative or to submit a Support Request.
Hope that helps.

Thx!
I've submitted a ticket earlier, not sure if I used this section/link you mention. Hope the recipient will forward it to the right person, if wrong.
I will post the solution/answer here.
Sounding like a broken record, but... whenever you get a new version, download the installer and back it up along with SPs, license information, and anything else relevant. If you have catastrophic failure you will have everything you need, regardless if its still hosted by AutoDesk or not.
Autodesk understand the issues we have with legacy files from 2010 till 2012 and we received permission to keep on running version 2012 as a network license besides 2014 and 2016.
