ObjectARX 2020 wizard not working

I have VS 2017 Community 15.9.13 with 'Desktop development with C++' workload plus optional items 'Visual C++ MFC ...' and 'Windows 10 SDK (10.0.17134)' installed (amongst other workloads).

I installed the ObjectARX SDK to C:\ObjectARX2020 and I installed the ObjectARX 2020 wizards using the  ObjectARXWizard2020.msi.

In VS2017, I select New Project, then I select the 'ARX/DBX Project For AutoCAD 2020' template then press OK expecting the project to be created but the New Project dialog is just redisplayed; the project is not created.

Any ideas?

You have to install ObjectARX Wizard with Admin right's

I have this exact same problem with the 2022 Wizard.  I am the administrator.  VS2019 is installed and working properly (I built all 34 of my projects successfully).  AutoCAD 2022 is installed and working properly.  Anything you can suggest for me?

2. Unblock this file

3. Extract ObjectARXWizard2022.msi to C:\TEMP directory

4. Run cmd.exe as Administrator

5. Run:

msiexec.exe /i C:\Temp\ObjectARXWizard2022.msi

P.S.: If you have installed ObjectARX Wizard 2021 - you can have a problem with ObjectARX Wizard 2022

I uninstalled the ObjectARX 2019 Wizards and restarted the machine.  I followed your instructions and installed ObjectARX 2022 Wizards from cmd.exe.  I restarted the machine.  Same result.  Basically nothing happens when I hit "Create".  I'm using Microsoft Visual Studio Professional 2019, Version 16.11.5.

Sorry, same result.  I uninstalled the 2022 Wizard first, then installed the 2021 Wizard.  I get the attached screen, hit 'create' and nothing happens.  I still have VS2017 (no Wizards) installed.  Could that be the problem?

With VS 2019 (16.11.6) ObjectARX Wizard 2022 is working on my side. I also have VS 2017 installed, so it is not a problem.

I updated to Version 16.11.6 and reinstalled the wizard.  Same result.  So I installed VS Pro 2019 on my laptop, updated to Version 16.11.6 and installed the wizard using "msiexec.exe /i C:\Temp\ObjectARXWizard2022.msi".  Says it installs properly but I get the same result.  Is there anything else about my Windows setting that I should be looking for?

Sorry to ask, but did you get this figured out? I am having the same problem with the ObjectArx 2023 wizards, where when I hit create, nothing happens.

No.  I gave up on 2019 and haven't even tried on 2023.  I just make my own projects, files, classes, etc. manually (the old fashioned way).

Thanks for the answer. I will do it manually too. I do not do this often enough to try to figure it out.

Same here. I have installed VS 16.11.19 as only VS version on a new laptop running Windows 10 Pro. I followed all the described steps. The setup always claimed to be successfull. But there is no project template for ARX/DBX apps :-(.

I gave up too and just reuse old projects or the provided ObjectARX samples.

I would really like to find out what's going on here.
