Calculating a Suitable Linetype Scale

I'm using subWorldDraw to add some extra parts to my custom entity. The user can specify line type, colour and weight for some of these extra parts. With a non-continuous line type I'd like to be able to calculate a line type scale to use (i.e., in subEntityTraits().setLineTypeScale) that will make the pattern visible without the user having to know about or fiddle with any of the multitudinous scaling options and factors.

Is there a way to calculate a sensible number? Possibly related to the size of the thing I'm drawing? (e.g., a 400m radius circle)If I have to try and factor in the global line type scale (LTSCALE) and the annotative scale though....is it easier to just put a number that looks OK and expose this in my ARX settings?

Any Linetype Scale setting is subjective: it all depends on the eye of the beholder, and the context it is in of course.

@pendean I had a feeling that was the case....I think a user setting might be quickest and easiest.
