At the risk of sounding ungrateful for this free service provided to us by Autodesk...

Is anything being done about the increasing amount of spam hitting the boards?

It's happening more in all the groups lately. Free service or not they have a responsibility to keep this stuff out especially since
many younger high school students frequent these group and don't need to see this garbage. Got to love were the kids that use these
groups for knowledge are heading as opposed to what the spammers are doing with their lives.

I wouldn't go so far as to say they HAVE to remove it. That could lead to no board at all. I can deal with the spam if that's the case, I'm just wondering if anybody is monitoring anymore. It used to be deleted, but now it just sits there.

With NNTP, there's not much that can be done without requiring authentication/login.

They can block IPs all day long, but I doubt that'll help much because spammers often use numerous zombied machines.

well it looks as though the old spam sitting around is still being deleted periodically. I was just worried this particular board was going to pot. I may fire up the webcrawler anyway just in case they pull another disappearing KB trick. Does anybody still have the KB stored offline by any chance?
