State of AutoCAD in plot window selection

Hi,

Within a plot command, when user chooses plot area as "Window", autocad prompts for the corners of the window. What is the state of autocad when a plot window is in progress?

I see that the entire drawing is kindof faded, and the last active plot window area is non faded. How autocad does this? And what is the state of autocad and the document when this happens?

Hi,

Looks to me that this question was not asked properly. So, let me ask differently.

Is there a way to to intercept this plot command? I want to do following things

1) Add a custom button in the plot window. I am thinking to get the window handle and add button dynamically.

2) When the button is hit, I want to show temp / custom rectangles on the faded screen.

3) Make the area within rectangles as non-faded.

Any ideas?

Thanks
