How to change the direction in simple hatching?

Hi,

I want to generate a hatching with the building path as shown in the attached figure(red arrow). How to set up the parameters in the slice to achieve that?

In slice commander you can apply a Simple hatching with the given settings to have the behaviour that you want. By enabling 'Alternating hatch direction' you get the zig-zag that you want.

Hi,

I have the setting:

yhzhang0116_0-1701271484645.png

but the result is like:

where the connection between two building path cannot be seen. Is it correct?

Ahhh, those small vectors are called 'Jumping vectors' and are have only 'Jump speed' as tag. I think you can't see them in Slice commander but they are there AFAIK!

Hatch connection is not part of this action. There are other hatching actions that provide a connection option, but Simple hatching is not one of them.

You could mimic the same by using Stripe hatching with an excessive stripe width, larger than the slice bounding box. However, even then the connection between hatches is only made up to a certain angle against the vertical on the hatch direction:

I do not have confirmation at this time whether that is intentional, a side effect of the current implementation, or in fact a bug.

Thank you for the help!! That's enough for me to make some print!

Hi Steffen,

When I tried to build the hatching as follows:

No matter how I change the stripe width(from 5mm to 1000mm), it will always generate the path below.

May I ask how to remove the track in middle(from top right to bottom left)?

I see the size of that contour is 10×10 mm, the workaround should apply well enough. Are there more contours belonging to that slice stack or slice layer, other than the contour in the picture?

Can you retry with Regionalization enabled?

Also, I'm curious: If you can disclose, what is the application of leaving exposure enabled for the connections?

Hi Steffen,

Yes, there are more contours but use different building path.

I checked the Regionalization, but the lines is still there.

That line is formed by the connections from Connect hatches which you originally asked to have. If you disable this setting, the line should be gone.
