How to deploy custom CUI to other pc's

Hi,

what is the 'proper' way to deploy a Cui-file with custom buttons en menu's (and a workspace) to several other pc's in the network?

when I create a CUI file with custom buttons on my machine it works well (cuiload, choose cui, menu's and toolbars are loaded correctly)

but when I load this MyCompany.cui on another machine it changes my cui-file.

1. when I load it using Cuiload, Autocad strangely copies all menu's from the standard cui to mycompany.cui, every menu/toolbar is double

2a. when I load it using the enterprise option in 'options' > 'file'-tab > , Autocad states that my cui is already loaded

2b. when I first unload my CUI, then set it as enterprise menu, it does load the toolbar but it does not load my custom menu

and why are .mnr files created in AutoCad 2017? I thougt they were obsolete?

kind regards,

I don't deploy custom CUIx files to individual computers.  They are kept on the network and loaded as partial to our Enterprise, as such:

  • Main (user stuff)
  • Enterprise
    • ACAD
    • Raster Design
    • Express
    • Custom Tools 1
    • Custom Tools 2
    • etc.

I don't include workspaces with individual CUIx files.  They are only present in the Enterprise (as a starting point/fallback) and Main (default user set-up).  Any UI content in the partials is added to the default workspaces prior to roll out.  In the rare circumstance we need to add a new partial CUIx after roll out, it merges the contents into active workspaces.  All configuration/organization is done through the CUI editor, not CUILOAD.
