create a toolbar and run the .net exe in autocad

hi

in my project, the output drawings will be generated in autocad.

when i install my software,and open the autocad
then a toobar with a button should be created,by pressing the button i want to run the project

it is like, when i install the software , a shortcut icon is shown in desktop
similarly i need to generate a shortcut in autocad toolbar

is there any way..

I need the answer to this too. I've found information on making ribbons, but the code I found doesn't seem to be applicable to the current version of either AutoCAD or Visual Studio. First, if the three little letters in your subject line are accurate (exe), then you can have your exe start autocad or connect to an existing instance, and interact with it through the COM interface only, but you can't have a button in Autocad that executes code from your exe. To do that you would have make it a .dll and load it into Autocad.

Judging by the links you provided as reference, you are apparently using a .dll, so perhaps if you were more specific as to what you're having trouble with, someone out here can probably help.

I am trying to create a button during the install of my program. I am also trying to enter the pieces needed for functionality into the registry. Since I need to do both of these things during a company-wide install, it is impractical to do them manually. The button would simply call a function in my dll that opens a windows form. I have had some limited success with the registry, but when I enter the values using my installation program, AutoCAD does not recognize the command.
