Sectioned NavisWorks model disappear in certain quadrants when rotated

I am using Navisworks Simulator 2017 and have found it very useful for planning purposes.

I have split the model in various box sections to make it more manageable for surveyors to locate and identify item properties. At some point a change was made (which I can’t figure out what was), that altered the sectioned view configuration, and made the model disappear in certain quadrants when rotated. Actually, similar problem occurs when using the planes sectioning.

As soon as the sectioning is disabled everything is back to normal. I have looked through the Options Editor, but can’t seem to find the correct config property.

Please advise?

I have attached a video showing the problem.

You may try changing the Clipping planes from the Home tab > Project Panel > File options.

I think you’ll need to change Culling to Automatic or otherwise set Near/Far clipping planes to fixed and adjust the distance as appropriate.

Thanks for the tip, but I have now tried to alter all the settings under file Options. It doesn’t seem to have any impact. I have also noticed that the problem isn’t file specific. It must be something with the general settings as different models also suffers from the same problem.

Maybe it's a graphics card issue? Try the Global Options > Display and check your settings for Occlusion Culling and Hardware Acceleration.

Yes, thank you. That was it. I had to change the: Options\Interface\Display\Autodesk\Shader Style -> Phong as it was set on Basic.OptionsEditorShaderStyle-Phong.png

I had the same problem.  This was solved by using "constrained" for clipping planes!  Thanks for advice 🙂
