Rotating an animation set

How can I rotate an animation set around a specific point? The Autodesk help is here as so often little helpful. The hint, rotate the selection set with the rotate gizmo is of no use if I don't know how to place the gizmo correctly.

In the animator I can enter the position of the gizmo numerically, but as soon as I enter the rotation angle, the selection set is rotated by another point.

This is how I do it. There is probably a better way that I am just not aware of.

1. Open a model in Navisworks and save a 3D view as a Viewpoint.

2. Create an additional 4 or 5 Viewpoints as keyframes for your rotating. Basically, setting reference locations where the camera should move. More is better, but I always just start with a handful to make sure I get the desired results.

3. Right-click in the Save Viewpoint panel, select Add Animation and rename it something. I usually call mine "CameraPath", but whatever works for you. I also don't include spaces in the name. I feel like I have issues when I have a space in the name.

4. Go back to Save Viewpoint and select all views that you will be using for the animation. Then using shift key and left click the mouse and drop the selected viewpoints into the animationinto the animation.

5. Select the animation, then in the Animation tab across the top and press Play.

You can then you can modify the animation speed as necessary.

Thanks for the answer, but this is not the solution to my problem. What I mean is not a rotation around the model. My model is a ship loader. I will have the boom rotate around its hinge point. My problem is that I can't manage to set the exact pivot point.

I'll explain it in more detail here. I specify the position of the pivot point in the animator. But as soon as I enter the rotation angle, the values of the pivot point change.

ok, now I understand the issue.

To my knowledge, there is no method to change the pivot point for an object or a selection of objects and make the "new" location sticky. If you deselect and then go back to that original selection you will have to move the pivot point again.
