Revit family with import cad symbol get a different element id and parameters don't convert

Hello all,

I have a family that contains an import dwg symbol that composes the geometry. When exporting to Navisworks, it seems the Family "container" seems to get stripped leaving only the dwg symbol. As a result, the element id changes and no shared parameters are coming across into Navisworks. In fact the Item Name becomes the import symbol name ending in .dwg (Alarm.dwg).

I tried to adjust the export settings checking/unchecking Convert element ids, element properties, linked CAD formats however not getting any results.

Any help much appreciated!
