Open e57 format data in Navisworks

Does Navisworks open e57 format data? Or is there any Navisworks plugin to use to open e57 data?

Hello

Thank you for posting on the forums.

It appears Matterport directly reference Navisworks as being compatible with the E57 file format (See here).

We are unfamiliar with the use of this format and believe you are better contacting Matterport directly as they likely have better experience supporting customers with use of the E57 format.

"We are unfamiliar with the use of this format"  🤣

e57 is the global standard for point cloud data.
The E57 file format is a general purpose, open standard format that stores 3D imaging data, such as point cloud data. How in the world can Autodesk say they are unfamiliar?!?

Sorry, I must not have been clear in my messaging. We know and recognise E57, as I mentioned Matterport support compatibility with Autodesk products. My question was specifically in the context of E57 directly into Navisworks. Matterport support a connection to Navisworks already as well as ReCap Pro which can then be imported into Navisworks.

I wanted to understand the intended use case for E57 directly to Navisworks and why the current avenues were not sufficient.

Apologise if this was confusing.
