Navisworks Data Tools question

Anonymous
Not applicable

Does the Data Tool in Navisworks require a unique model id or can I add data based on a non-unique property, such as assign the same cost code to every model object that has a specific spool number?  Also my import from Smart Plant doesn't seem to have a unique id anywhere.

          Thanks for any help.

You aren't restricted to a single unique ID.  When you create the connection, you specify queries which generate each additional property.

Thank you for your post.  In this case it looks like you are curious about data tools and the model items (GUIDS) inside of Navisworks.  The workflow outlined by @dgorsman can work to coordinate this data.  In regards to SmartPlant specifically, I could not speak to that but would advise reaching out to their support team for nay coding or suggestions to move specific data from one software to another.  To help I have included a link below.  Please let us know if there are any questions and how we can best help in this post moving forward.  Thank you and we look forward to your reply.
