Hi,
I cannot use the rendering with my models or sample models.
The "Autodesk Rendering" menu is always grayed out.
Can you please advise how to solve this issue ?
Thank you very much,
Marc

Hello,
Thank you for posting to the forums.
Can you confirm you are using the latest version of Navisworks Simulate 2023? (2023 Update 4)
Can you also confirm if the render folder has automatically been created on install. This is usually located here: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\Navisworks Simulate 2023\Render

Hi Brett,
Thank you for taking the time to coming back to me.
I'm using Navisworks Simulate 2023 Update 4. After searching, I just found a reason (may help others).
In the Display > Drivers menu, if Autodesk (Direct X) drivers is not checked, rendering is grayed out.
I only check the OpenGL driver. This looks to be the reason.
This take me to another question, I see in the manual that normally I should have a "Autodesk (OpenGL)" driver.
I don't see anything. Do you have any ideas to solve that ?
Best regards,
Marc
Hello,
Glad you found the resolution. The Autodesk (OpenGL) version is reduced in the form to just OpenGL. Autodesk (OpenGL) was previously an option but no longer.
The options as they appear in the help are;
Help reference - Product reference
Autodesk (DirectX 11) - Autodesk (DirectX 11)
Autodesk (DirectX 9) - Autodesk (DirectX 9)
Autodesk (OpenGL) - Open GL
Autodesk (DirectX 11 Software) - Autodesk (DirectX 11 Software)
OpenGL OpenGL Software - OpenGL Software
I will discuss with the documentation team to get this updated and clearer..

Thank you Brett. So, in conclusion, if Direct X is not slected it is normal that Rendering doesn't work ? (just to be sure...).
That is correct.
I have raised the issue with the documentation team and a note will be added to the Rendering and drivers page, something similar to
"Note: In order for the Autodesk Rendering Window to function correctly, at least one Autodesk driver must be selected."
Internal ticket reference: NW-60101
