Navisworks 2015 and 2016 entity bug with Autoplant objects

We get yellow line outside all Autoplant Piping objects. Every object has two entities under it. The yellow line can be hidden one object at the time. Navis works 2014 has no such entities under objects in same model.

What should we do? We have downloaded latest service packs.

If you really are talking about the old Bentley Autoplant, there has not been an update of the filereaders since 2014. Be glad that you have pipes and not the useless boxed proxy objects.
My advice would be to continue using Navisworks to convert the models from Autoplant to a 2014.NWD.
Then use Navisworks 2016 and append the 2014.NWD there.

The Reboids you call boxes is what you normaly get when your pc:s OS do not recognize the objects. Yes we have installed 2015 and 2016 on pc without Autoplant. After unsuccessfull attempts to get piping objects (Reboids) to show opening the nwf-file we tried to open a nwc-file and, voila! Now it works also when opening nwf-files. There is something about Navisworks 2015 and 2016 not fully supporting the reboids. Until you open a file containing all the necesary data like an nwc-file do. After that the OS of that pc recognizes them fully. Weird? Yes!

When I think about it, the same happened to me although I had Autoplant installed. The configuration was not working until I, propably, opened a nwc-file.

Navisworks 2014 and earlier did not have that problem. And those yellow lines outside piping objects allso occured with 2015 version and allso still in 2016.

The nwd-files, by the way are just files readable i Navisworks Freedom. Theese yellow lines appear in all Navisworks formats on Autoplant objects. It's not nice. Navisworks 2014 has not that problem. Jpg of those lines attached.

Then the only thing left is, I guess, to create a search set that has the right criteria to select all yellow lines from Autoplant models
and an appearance profile that hides those lines.

Sorry, no can do. That would take too much time. They need to go or else we can not use 2015 and later. 2014 works fine. Someone in programing squad need to find out why there is double entities and how to get rid of the second one.

Sorry.

Have a nice weekend and meet new task next week. 🙂

I still think Navisworks is the best!

I suspect that is in the AutoPLANT object enabler rather than the Navisworks side, as I don't get anything similar with other OE-dependant cylindrical entities.  Make sure you file a bug report with Bentley stressing that the OE should be checked out lest they just push the problem back onto AutoDesk.  Don't hold your breath as you're in something of a development hinterlands - two products from competing developers, and Bentley is pushing hard to migrate users to OpenPlant and their own Navisworks alternative.

The Object Enabler can't be involved. Object Enabler is used to see Autoplant models in 3D. You can not generate any autoplant reboids with it. I use full Autoplant together with Autocad and Navisworks has allwys been a marvellous complement to present dwg models in real time. Until now.

Those yellow lines are an annoyance and they appeared with the latest Navisworks versions. As well new as old Autoplant generated models has those yellow lines outside the objects. When I open the same Autoplant models in an older Navisworks there are no yellow lines and no double entities. Those entities are generated by the new Navisworks. This bug has to befixed. We can not have older versions back then 3 years of versions of Autodesk produckt and soon we will only have Navisworks representations that show those yellow lines.

If that happens Navisworks will have no future in our organisation, and we don't want that. It is difficult to find another program as good as Navisworks - at least until recent versions.

Autodesk need to get rid of those entities, and fast.

I should have download´a view of a model, but now the darn Navisworks show only boxes again. The new version allso is impossible to understand how to configurate to work. And then there is that there is no support to speak of. Nobody seem to understand how it works. Not even Autodesk staff.

Ok, the other workaround then would be to use Navis 2014 to open the NWC files of Autoplant and save them in an 2014 NWD.
Then use Navis 2016 to append all non-Autoplant models to that NWD.
I got the word that with the relaese of 2017, if you have subscription, you would be allowed to use not the 3 but the 5 latest version, so you still will be entiteld to use the 32-bits Navisworks 2014.
