Import Revit to Navisworks

When importing Revit files to Navisworks, Navisworks automatically takes the correct insert point from Revit. I'm wondering about the input units which is feet, also if the model was drawn in meter.

Is it possible that Revit works in background with feet and not with meters. In Autocad/Civil3D you can define the units and he is importing according to the default units.

I didn't quite understand the problem, but yes, Revit core works with feets. You can see it in Revit Lookup plugin or Dynamo

Well, "problem". As European it's probably in general not understandable why someone would program a software based on "feet" since SI-units should be standard 😉

For me it is good to know, since I'm working in general on large infrastructure projects. Basically the transformation from meter (as input value in Revit/Dynamo) to feet (Revit core) and back to meter (Navisworks) could cause deviation depending on the amount of digits saved in the Revit core. In general for infrastructure projects it is standard to work with 4 digits (0.1 mm). I guess the dwg standard works in the units defined by default, since it is imported in meters.

See example in Excel: if feet is saved to 3 digits and transformed 2 times, you get a deviation of 0.1 mm
