How to apply new rules to existing tests

Say you run a clash test resulting in thousands of clashes. Afterwards you find that you want to ignore clashes that concern insulation clashing more insulation. Is the only way to achieve that by making up a new rule and re-run the test? Is there no way to apply that new 'filter' to the currently active clashes?

if your using Sets to make your rules, you should be able to open your Manage Sets...  & the Find Item window. when you select on a set, the search criteria will be displayed. You can then edit it as needed. But it would still need to be exported or saved with a new name.

In the clash detective Rules, you can change the Set it is looking at to the new Set for that rule and rerun the clash.

I read @hmunsell answer as: Applying new rules always requires a rerun of the test.
