Extract an embedded point cloud from NWD file

Hi. I recieved a very large NWD file that had a point cloud embedded in it. My goal is to be able to extract the point cloud from the NWD in some format or another and be able to load it into Inventor or Recap. Is this possible?

Steven.

No. it’s not possible to delete files appended to the published Navisworks NWD file. It’s only possible with the NWF file format.

I wouldnt say im looking to delete the point cloud. I would like to "export" it into another format that can be loaded into other point cloud viewing softwares that have design capabilities.

Thank you for the clarification! What I understood is that you have a large federated NWD file appending multi files alongside the point cloud and you want to delete the other files and keep the point cloud only. However, The main purpose of NWD file is to enable data sharing in a secured format that prevent exporting it back to its editable file format.

The only way to do that is to contact the NWD author and ask him for the required file format.
