After appending and saving a .nwd file (52mb) from our peer, the saved file size becomes 72 mb,

System is 2017 Navisworks Management.

Please advise how to straight it up in lieu of a new computer.

Hi @diacreek,

Be aware that this always happens when you append a NWC and create an NWD, the size increaces.

See an example above of a NWC and  NWD just appending that NWC.

Hi Valentin,

Is it safe to say same thing happens for .NWD and append / save to a new NWD as well?

@diacreek

Not really, that increase in size only happens when you append a NWC to an NWD.

Best regards

Check for rogue materials and lights (under the Render panel), and rogue saved views under the saved views panel.  I've seen files blown up in size for both instances.

That is a great comment @dgorsman, it is true that is you remove the created lights/material/lights by default and save it as a NWD that will reduce the size even making it smaller than the original NWC in some cases.
