Once I saved a file as NWF in Navisworks Manage 2015 there is no way for me to delete appended files!
Delete simply is not available!
It happens for some NTFs.
Why?

Because you're trying to delete the appended file from test.nwd. You can not delete something form an NWD.

I guess you have saved the NWD Model as another NWF file using Save As command from Navisworks Menu. In that case deleting the dwgs is not possible. If you have the original NWF file somewhere, you can delete the dwgs individually. The selection tree would also appear different in that case as in the attached image.

@BalajiHTI is 100% correct.  It is possible to save an .nwd as an .nwf.  So even though it seems to be a file set that file set is actually referencing an .nwd, instead of a set of .dwg's.

Thanks! I suppose that was what happened! Is there a way to export objects or elements out of a NWD file? Add-ons or object enablers? As I understand this format is similar to dwg with bonded external references.

I'm not sure if you can extract the dwgs out of this nwd now. But you can 'export' each model individually as 3D DWFx by isolating each of them from the selection tree. Or if you have the original dwgs somewhere you can always recompile the NWF.
