Default Clipping Planes

I have been using Navisworks for a while now and have got fairly well acquainted with its ticks. But something that seems to have attached itself to my Naviswroks specifically is the process of opening up any file (doesn't matter what file it seems to be everyone else in my practise can open the files fine) and the clipping planes by default set to automatic clip my model out of sight (as shown below). Now I know I can change this by going to options and changing my near and far clip accordingly. BUT

I want to know why it doesn't automatically clip properly? and how I can set it to correctly clip by default when I open a file.

This is another reason why I have been asking for .NWT files (Template file for an NWF) where you could edit these settings.

The only workaround I know is make a new .NWF, Attache one model, make the settings and clipping planes and so on

and use a copy of that .NWF instead of a blank file when starting a new NWF.
