Dear All,

Is there a way to count the number of elements in the Navis file and export in Excel format.

Example:
I have a room, suppose I have to count the number of lights, fan and chairs an export into excel.

Thanks in advance.

There are various functions in Navisworks that allow you to do so:

  1. Manually select one of the items you want to count
  2. From the Select & Search panel choose Select same( type or name as appropriate)
  3. Every item with the same name/type as the selected item will also be selected
  4. Open the Selection inspector window and export your selection to a CSV file

Another way is to use the Find Items window to search for items with similar criteria. You can search for a single parameter or multiple search terms to get multiple items (i.e. Lights , fan & chairs) in one list. Then you can export into Excel as per point no.4 above.

Thanks for your solution. It works great.

Taking a step further I am trying to export the properties of those objects into an excel file. I tried exporting the object's properties using properties+ plugin. But it's not clear. Any workflow around to export them like revit schedules.

Thanks again in advance.
