Hi All,
When I append a new NWD file, it seems the lighting is also adopted and when in "Scene Lighting" mode, the whole model becomes overexposed.
When I try to remove these new lights in the render settings it doesn't seem to have any effect.
Is there a way to prevent lights being imported and compounded?
Thanks

Hey Davide,
Did you ever find a solution to this problem?

Hi,
unfortunately not. For this reason I'm still using Head Lighting instead of Scene Lighting.

Hey guys,
I found one but cant say the best:
1. Use sheet browser to open the nwd file/s.
2. You need to load and view them first.
3. Go back to your main workspace and append the nwd.
Please confirm if this solution helps. Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion but this doesn't seem to work for me. Just come across this issue again. Even when delete out the lights in the original file and append it it still bumps up the brightness each time it is appended.

Hi,
Keen to help, are you able to send a sample file so I could test out? The steps I've listed worked perfectly on my PC. Also, another option is just change the lighting to Headlight, I think this is the best to avoid the issue.

Has someone found a solution for this problem? I have the same problem with appending multiple nwd files in Navisworks 2022.

Seems to be fixed in Navisworks 2024 : https://help.autodesk.com/view/NAV/2024/ENU/?guid=Navisworks_2024_fixes
"Fixed an issue causing the scene to become overexposed when appending models containing duplicate lights (NW-58675)."
I don't have access to 2024 😭, could someone confirm?
And just in case, anyone have found a workaround for prior versions?
