Clash only what's visible, or clash by level

Is it possible to run a clash report only on elements that are visible, or perhaps only on elements at a specified level?

Navisworks should only do a clash on what is available in the Navisworks model. if you have the Enable Sectioning on and have your model cropped, the clash should only run on the visible elements.

also if you make a "Navisworks" view in your model and set it to only what you want to see. you can set Navisworks to use that view to import.

@hmunsell, I tried a section box and a section plane, but neither worked.  The clash detective was reporting clashes throughout the entire model.  And yes, creating a 3D view in Revit to show only specific elements would work, but this is not ideal when working with 10 NWC files created from multiple consultants.

Understood. We use the "Navisworks View" method in our office all the time. Yes it does take some extra coordination and Yes we have had issues with consultants not understanding. So I understand 😁.

interesting... several of my BIM Coordinators in the office had issues a while back because they were using the Enable Sectioning tool to do cutaways to look into the building. Clashes that were in the "Cut away" areas were not being displayed in the report.
