Clash Detective for Architecture and Structure Models

Hi,

I was wondering what is the best practice for a BIM workflow between a structure and architecture model.

We use Clash Detective to review clashes between architecture and mep models.

So far so good. But what would be the best way to find-out if there are any miss-match between the structure and architecture models?

The Structural consultant have their own model, they communicate us the changes and we overtake them and append the changes to the elements in our model.

Is there a possibility within Navisworks to compare the two models?

I am seeking ideas how to go about this. How do you do it?

If you have Revit-Revit workflow and you want to track the equality of some elements between architectural and structural models, the best practices is to use copy-monitor function in Revit: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2019/EN...
For comparing two versions of the model and tracking changes BIM 360 has very good option:

We did copy monitor some elements in the beginning. Grids and floor slabs and retention walls.

Somewhere down the line what went unnoticed is the consultants didn't really get hang of how copy monitor functions and deleted and rebuilt some of the copy monitored elements. We had to resort to stop monitor.

For reviewing the updates or changes between two revisions to a model we use navisworks compare tool. It has worked to some extent.

What i am interested is if there is a way i can compare and findout the differing elements between architecture and structure models. So i can narrow down the differences and start with monitor again.

I hope I was successful in communicating my issue.

As I know there is no way to compare two different architecture and structure models, cause all the mechanisms of comparing works with ID of the elements. Architecture and Structure models have different IDs for all elements.
What I used in this case - Appearance Profiler in Navisworks. I made Architecture green and Structure model red and searched visually for differences.

Valentina, you know if there is a way to override a material for example: set a concrete layer in a core architectural element (wall, column, floor, etc.) with AIR material on architectural model so when a structural concrete element use the same geometrical space do not show a clash  result?

Is there any automatic workaround about this issue ? Material replacement and visual detection can be very time consuming...

Any plugin in Revit, Dynamo script or a feature in NSW ?
