Many people in this forum seems to have been extracting primitives from model item geometries.
However extracting the triangles is only the first and "easy" step I guess, at least it is in our case.
Because what is needed is actually to recognize the actual "shape".
And doing so just having triangles, not to mention they are typically not ordered, not perfect etc, is near impossible.
I recently realized that at least for some models we process, Navisworks actually seem to have the original shapes.
This can be seen in Scene Statistics, small extract/example below:

First partition clearly contains some very interesting semantic stuff: cylindres, boxes, torus, pyramids, that are not simple triangles/points.
Even if this is not always the case, being able to access these would have tremendous benefits.
So please @Anonymous team, allows us to access these.
Whatever disclaimer, NDA, extra DLL and/or even a reasonable one-time fees is needed 😉
