I'm sure this isn't possible, but I would like to put 3D Text Tags in my Navisworks model through the API. Sure, I can put Text on a 2D View, but once the model is orbited, that disappears. Is there a way to insert text into the 3D model space at a specific coordinate (x,y,z) and font size?
hi,
There is article by Xiaodong Liang (draw text graphics) http://adndevblog.typepad.com/aec/2014/09/draw-text-graphics.html but that is 2d lines used to draw fonts. Perhaps if you looked into renderplugin http://adndevblog.typepad.com/aec/2013/05/navisworks-2014-api-new-feature-renderplugin.html I guess it should be possible to draw simple 3d object that could look like text in 3D space.

I noticed when I import a Revit grid, there are text object at the ends of the line. This would be the perfect solution to my needs, but it appears there are no API's for this. This text always remains the same size no matter how much you zoom.
If it opens in Navisworks from Revit, there must be a way to make text like this?
