Selection Tree Organization

When using the Selection Tree, there is no way to change the order of files after they are appended except to sort alphabetically.  The problem with this is after you do it, you can no longer sync with BIM 360 (there is a warning message).  I tried it just to see and sure enough I couldn't save the file.  I'm sure this is a big problem for most people.

I am working on a project with dozens of files in my merged model and growing.  It would be extremely helpful to be able to manually organize the files into groups or folders by area and control visibility in this way.

Some response from Autodesk on this matter, would be nice..

We can still only sort on alphabetical order in the Navisworks selection tree. How difficult could it be to allow users to group files, create subfolders, or even let us manually re-order files in the selection tree?

It is possible to do this in the "saved viewpoints" tree, so why not in the selection tree?

It's beyond me why, anno "2020", something this basic is not implemented in such expensive software...

Hi,
Please note This is a forum for Navisworks API discussions (programming). Your post is a new feature request for Navisworks and that you can post to the general Navisworks group or better you can file is as a feature request on the Autodesk support page.

Hi,

I'm completely agree with this, we needed to add folder and subfolder on selection tree.

Could you do this command on Navisworks

Update: Still not possible anno 2023 (almost 2024)...

Nobody from Autodesk ever looks here... (proof me wrong Autodesk)
