Rendering Lighting - query amount of illuminance on a model item surface

We have seen that Naviswork has the possibility to upload luminaires photometric data from .IES files, thus acquiring the illuminance intensity in each direction.

Since this data can easily be used to establish the amount of illuminance on surfaces in the vicinity, we would like to know if there is a command (via API?) or atool for query the amount of illuminance (e.g. in lux units) on a model item surface (at least on horizontal planes).

Unfortunately, the API for Rendering or Materials have not been exposed. We have wish logged: #39648.
