This would be such a boost for my design process. Having to move back and forth between Mudbox and Max/Maya just to add some simple shapes or do a boolean cut to a sculpt, is problematic. The absolute best version of this would be a "live boolean" where some mesh (hull) is re-projecting/displacing tessellated mesh either as a negative or positive shape.
I agree. Autodesk has another product they acquired that they let people have for free called Meshmixer. Meshmixer is primarily focused on prepping objects for 3D printing, but it has a lot of features -such as booleans- that would be great for them to incorporate into Mudbox.
Don't know if you noticed, but Mudbox is an abandoned product. They haven't added any new features in three years. We're all better off switching to Blender or something else.
