Hello,
I am fairly new to mudbox and new to texturing. I am trying to achieve a texture effect like this.

The mountain has a nice rock texture on it that is seamless and non-repeating. It is subtle, but nice. I am looking for that type of texture on my various mountains. Here are my questions.
1) How do I keep the texture high enough quality that when players walk up to it the giant cracks on the texture are no low quality?
2) How do I get my texture cracks all going the same direction? I created stamps however, I feel like I have little control over those stamps.
I am working with maya and mudbox. I am working with very large structures similar to the size of Skyrim's mountains.

But, what do you mean by that? I am using Unity for this project.
I cant use the built in terrain system because I am making the game low poly and Unity does not support low poly terrain. So unfortunately I need to build all of my terrain out of assets.
