Removing material in mudbox

Hi!

I have just started using mudbox and have really been enjoying it! What i have been wondering though is if there is a way to remove material from the model you are working on? What i mean is that when you are using the sculpt tool, you are only pushing around the mesh, not removing anything, the same exact mesh is still there, just in a different location. What i'm wondering is if there is a way to remove material in a sculpting manner, sort of like removing clay in the real world. This might be a stupid question, but any answers are appreciated!

Hi there,

There are no stupid questions here. Smiley Happy

Because the mesh you are sculpting on is just a hollow surface, and not a solid, this is the way it works. You can't really remove volume. In 2018.2, you can use the Reduce brush to decrease the resolution - but I don't think that's what you're asking for.
