My 1st wip work with Mudbox 2017, very happy!

The past days I started using Mudbox 2017, after a loong time using the 2015 version. I am happy because I was a bit acostumbrated,(not totally) to the bugs in the 2015 version: Unexpected lock ups, when opening a bit heavy scenes form the welcome menu, or unexpected stops when I made Flip mesh for mirror objects with certain polycount and sculpt layers in the scene.

The new 2017 version y to much stable. I was making som hard surface practces for an good time modeling, using retopo and making some experimentes to generate some kind of hair in the same Mudbox, and probing my new customized tools: PlanarCut, PlanarAdd, Polish, made specificaly to that kind of hard surface models in the same Mudbox:

I am very happy with Mud 2017 due his stability, and I have recovered the entusiasm for work with it. But for this reason too I like to remind to the developers, that not abandon such wonderfull modeling/sculpting program. Mudbox have a lot of possibilites if you include some more tools and functionalties too. The interface is so nice, and the learning curve is super-friendly. A lot of thing can be done combining the sculpt tools, like model hair cuts, made in this case with Foamy and using grab and the pose tools to bring form to the haircut...the retopology, is very very powerful combined with the sculpt layers. A lot of possibilites. And imagine the possibilities combining the retopo with some kind of boolean operations witgh the retopo. That could be very powerfull. If you like to recover the market, in my opinion, I would bet all my chips to Mudbox.

I hope you like the character:

Nice work! The hard surfaces look pretty awesome.

I am also gaining enthusiasm for Mudbox.  In recent posts, the Mudbox team has indicated a continued focus on the product.  I am excited to see where it goes.  You are correct that it has significant advantages.  I hope they build on them.

I look forward to seeing your tutorial. Your hard surfaces are very clean. I am interested to know how you achieved that.
