I've been tearing my hair out for the past few days attempting to send a Mudbox creation into maya. First off it was Mudbox 2016 sending to Maya 2015, which meant I had to create a path, but there was areas where I couldn't create a path and there was little to no help out there online for this. So I upgraded to Maya 2016, now the "send to Maya" button is no longer greyed out and it's now visible. But now I cannot access several of my Mudbox 2016 files. Whenever I attempt to open a Mudbox file this error appears: https://gyazo.com/7130944f7b694476f3f7c8babe32a2ac
There is one or two Mudbox files that still open correctly (All of the Mudbox files I am talking about are copies at different stages of the work, but the files that still open correctly no longer have the paint layers showing the colours, only the sculpt detail.. which I am not sure why this is).
I've tried changing the .bak extensions to .mud ones but I still get the error message. I've also tried deleting the Mudbox settings folder, which was recommended somewhere online. Any help will be greatly appreciated, Every time some problem was fixed, another one appears in its place. Very infuriating. Thanks.
