Mudbox displaying Low Resolution Textures in viewport

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

I've been having this problem for a while now and it's really holding me back, so any help is appreciated:

Basically when I paint high resolution textures, alot of the time (not always) they are displayed in the viewport at such low resolution it's barely possible to make out the detail, even when I create a new diffuse map at the highest resolution. Sometimes they will display fine or randomly switch between high and low res, so I know this is not a UV size issue. I've seen other people have asked to same question on the web but i'm yet to find an answer.

I'm wondering if it's something to do with graphics card memory? However this has been occuring since the first maps I started painting on my model. I'm running a GTX 660 with 2GB memory. Hope this helps, cheers

Accepted solution

Sorted, turned off the gigtexel engine in preferences! Had to load my maps back in but was worth it in the end.
