This post provides Mudbox brush settings to closely match some of the commonly used sculpting brushes in ZBrush. These brushes are not exactly the same as those in ZBrush. However, they are close enough to make a transition to Mudbox much more familiar.
While I have made some adjustments, these brush settings are largely based on Sergio Mengual's Mudbox brush settings video: Mudbox 2017 Custom Sculpt Tools Explained . If you get a chance, give Sergio's video a like. Also, if you are so inclined, subscribe to his channel. He has a number of awesome Mudbox speed sculpts and other related videos you might find interesting. Sergio's brush settings are based on a brush settings tutorial by Neil Blevins, posted several years ago, entitled "Common Zbrush Sculpting Brushes in Mudbox". Neil Blevins' tutorial, sadly, appears to no longer be available. However, you can learn more about Neil Blevins at his website http://www.neilblevins.com/ .
If you have any Mudbox custom brush settings that closely match ZBrush brushes, please post them here. The community would really appreciate your contribution.
CLAY BUILDUP (ZBrush Equivalent: CLAY BUILDUP)
Type: Wax
Invert: No
Stamp: Square
Randomize: Off
Distance: 10 (Stamp Spacing On)
Buildup: 100
Falloff: 5
Update Plane: On
Direction: Averaged Normal
Notes: The average normal plane is based on the mesh which falls within the brush radius. Mudbox cuts into portions of the mesh that are above the average normal plane. On corners, this can be readily seen, as Mudbox cuts the corners down to the average normal plane. Zbrush disregards portions of the mesh that are above the average normal plane. When sculpting across a corner, the corner is largely left alone until the buildup meets or exceeds the average normal plane.
TRIM (ZBrush Equivalent: TRIM DYNAMIC):
Type: Scrape
Invert: N/A
Stamp: Square
Randomize: Off
Distance: 0 (Stamp Spacing On)
Buildup: 100

Notes: If you want to add a little texture to the brush, try some randomization (maybe Rotation at 10%)
