Hide Areas of Object from View

I can't find this in the Mudbox documentation but it would be really helpful to me:

How can I hide specific areas/faces of the object from view so that I can work in tight spaces but still zoom out?

I don't mean masking to prevent the brush from affecting, I mean actually hiding that part from view?

I'm sure this is a basic question, so thank you for your patience and help.
