I am starting to learn mudbox

I have a few 3d objects (as different layers ) in the layers window

one of the 3d object is already the base mesh

how do I select another 3d object ( not the base mesh ) and set/make that 3d object as the new base mesh?

is this how things work in mudbox

Thank you

the only way i know of is to use the send to feature either Maya/3dsmax to Mudbox. The mesh has to be named the same as the old base mesh. The other way is to transfer details(similar to zbrush projection) from old base to new base.

It depends if you made significant change to your base mesh. ie add a edge loop, extruded a face. if not

you can import the new base mesh as a layer in the lowest level.

Thank you  cgappreciator,

I found out that I can import the 3d object into mudbox as a base mesh

thank you once again  cgappreciator
