Exporting Terrain Mesh Displacement Map ~ Not sure how? ( New to mudbox )

Need all the help please.

 

 I would love to export this to use in L3DT which is a terrain editing software.

 

I messed about with the Extract Map options but I have no luck in creating a perfect heightmap from exporting out mudbox..how..?

 

Would need it 2048x2048 and Im not sure this Preset " Plane " mesh is 2048x2048 in the first place ? but here is my settings.

After Extracting I Noticed the uv's are off? I have no idea what im doing.

 

And imported to Photoshop to find this from extracted .tiff 8bit from displacement map.

first of all you should change the target model (low resolution mesh) to lv 0, by right clicking on the mesh name and then set it to the lowest level

you should turn off normalize to search distance. Seems like you somehow made new uvs inside mudbox. another thing you might want to consider is using 16-bit or 32-bit for displacement map. because 8-bit will cause some banding.
