A true "Erase" mesh function? E.g. delete faces?

The Sculpt Tools do not seem to allow for "erasing" or deleting actual faces from a mesh.

For example, we want to truly delete the faces in the attached image but none of the tools seem able to...

Thanks

The only way to do that, in a clean way, is:

1: Select the volume of the faces with the Faces Tool.

2:Press the Delete key in your keyboard.

3: or, in Mudbox 2019 and later, press "P",(Patch), and in a single operation you are deleting and patching the mesh.

Another good option against those face glitches, working with the Dynamic Tessellation meshes, is using the Reduce Tool, and nex you can use Smooth with Tessellation of, of with a very low subdivision level.

Hope this was helpfull.

Thanks, Sergio!  That works!   It crashed Mudbox the first time... but worked the second time.

Appreciate it!
