Hello,

when I open a second study file (for a comparison between these two study files) Moldflow Insight 2018 crashes often, very often with a complete black window (see attachment).

The special thing is that an open window of Windows Explorer crashes with. This is a new problem, does anyone know this problem?

Regards

Michael

Hi @michaelschoenberger2160

I am not really sure what could be the issue on your machine, but usually when we see "black screens" it is usually due to a problem with the graphic card. It may have an incompatibility with Windows 10.

My recommendation is to update the graphic card driver to the latest version.

Hope it helps!!

Cheers,

Javier

Hi @michaelschoenberger2160

Did the update of the graphic card driver fix the issue?

Cheers,

Javier

Hello Javier,

Yesterday I have updated my graphic card driver, but I had the same issue with the black screen.  At this moment I’m trying other settings for the graphic card (normally I using the standard settings of the simulation app setting).

Hi Michael,

I know we had similar issues in the past, that were addressed on the MF2017R2. Basically, we had issues with W10 and some NVIDIA cards (Quadro M4000 and Quadro K600). If you say that this issue is on MF2018, thats something you need to report to support.

I recommend you to add your email to the CER after the crash, and to take reference of the CER ID. These is the information our developers need to check whether is a graphic driver crash or an issue on our side.

Sorry,

Javier

Hello Javier,

On my Win10 machine I use a Quadro M6000 of Nvidia and yes, I added my email address to the CER report.

But, why I have the feeling, that Moldflow becomes more unstable and the checking of the software stability is done by the user?!

My colleague and I twitch every time a new update comes, which will not work again.

We just want to have a stable version without crashing or cumbersome manipulations (now you have to click with the mouse in the window, to activate the rotation with the 3D spacemouse, what is it!?).

Sorry,

Michael

Thank you for answering anyway!
