Hot Runner weight

Is there a way to calculate the final weight of hot runner? 

 

I know we can get the part and cold runner weights in multiple ways but I couldn't figure out anything regarding the hot runners, I end up calculating it myself using the hot runner volume provided in the logs at the beginning of Fill analysis and material density.

Dear ,

 

Always your Hot runner volume will be related to melt density of your Material.,( check Material specification) 

It's better to have "Volume filled Initially" data by Log files,

Hi Muthuraja,

 

I've been using the volume filled initially and material density from specifications to calculate the weight for hot runner. Perhaps I wasn't clear with my question, sorry about that. I was wondering if there's similar statistics as "Part weight (at end of Fill)" or "Part weight (at end of Pack)" in the logs for the Hot Runner Weight, or if there's a XY Plot we can make to compare part weight vs Hot Runner weight (something similar to Cavity Weight: XY Plot)?

As of now, there is no results or option to display Hot runner weight
Your current process is followed by all

May Autodesk team consider this option in upcoming release

Hi @RK1097,

 

It is quite obvious, as hot runner weight is not required for any reason and it will be in molten state/hot state through out process and which will be measured in volume only.

 

For any other reason you want you can calculate using the 

weight of molten material = (Volume filled initially = -- cm^3)  multiplied by melt density .

 It is also weight of molten material in hot runner only

 

Note :  The melt density available in mold flow data base is single point density value of a polymer at its average processing temperature, and at zero, or near zero, pressure.

 

But during molding in hot-runner, molten polymer will be at set processing temperature & Injection pressure.

Getting Melt density* for your processing temperature* & Your injection pressure *  is very difficult, so above calculation is also not valid but can be used for reference but useful for any reason
