Cooling analysis without cooling channels?

Hello,

I want to do a transient cooling analysis involving the 3D geometry of the tool. The molding is done only at a very low frequency, so there is no need for cooling the tool. I have set the tool surface to 40°C.

Running the analysis gives an error message about the cooling liquid temperature being too high.

So my question is: Can I run a transient heat analysis involving the tool without cooling channels and cooling liquids in Moldflow Insight 2016?

Regards

Hi gluege,

I remember a presentation from Hanno or Franco showing the possibillity to do a cooling simulation without cooling lines, - the only thing I'm not so sure about is from which version on this was possible...

Only thing I found that until version 12 of Moldflow at least one beam was necessary for FEM cool.

Just try and ignore the error message...

HTH

Thank you for your support. I can now say that in Moldflow 2016 it is possible to just don't have cooling channels. I had a messed up model, recreating it from scratch resolved the issue.
